A Place For Everything and Other Such Nonsense
It's currently 49°F outside. It is 61°F inside my apartment. I'm sweating. I had hoped that I wouldn't do this this year. I can't handle heat and I don't exactly recognize the cold until I've gotten too cold. It's an annoying predicament, but it could be worse. I toss it into the bag with all of my other sensory nonsense and carry on. I am told to get it checked out, but I don't think people realize what that costs without insurance. Such things aren't as simple as going to the GP. Not to mention being “different” doesn't exactly click well in the high speed in-and-out of western medicine.
I checked my weight this morning and I am pleased to see the scale has moved down a few pounds. I should grab a measuring tape, but I can't be bothered. I'm trying to take a loosey goosey approach this time around as I can admittedly get obsessed. I'm not sure it's the correct approach for me as obsession gets better results, but it makes the social side of things a lot easier.
I'm trying to distract myself from thoughts of the appointment as it is bringing out multiple frustrations. I should likely confess to not enjoying female communication all that much in general. It's quite rare that I come across a woman that I actually enjoy speaking to. When it comes to the bureaucratic side of things it is almost never.
Why? I'm not exactly sure. I have a better idea of why in social engagement, but in other categories I don't know if it's the same. It's certainly not all women, but I do find so many shallow, conceited, incapable of listening, so extremely ignorant but thinking themselves geniuses, gossipy, vapid, unable to acknowledge they're incorrect, on and on.
Don't get me wrong, men can be just as bad and even worse in other areas. It's certainly not like I'm great at communication, but that call really rubbed me the wrong way and got under my skin. I keep trying to analyze why. At the end of the day, my trust radar is screeching. Undoubtedly, I will end up listening to it. I think I'm just annoyed that I feel the need to.
Perhaps this goes along with being solitary. Pace, interest, the ability to hop through multiple lines of interconnected thoughts at once... curiosity. Egads! The lack of curiosity in most conversation really does my head in.
I also really can't stand when people repeat something as if that is somehow going to make it true. Also, talking down to me, or anyone for that matter, in an attempt to establish authority flips a switch in my head. Whether I say anything depends upon my level of amusement and/or annoyance at the time. I think I was experiencing both during the call. Were it not what it was, I likely would have excused myself from it in the first ten minutes.
Just thinking about it douses my mood with the ickies.
In other news, I'm spending this afternoon sorting and swatching. I always start these endeavors with a lot of excitement because I enjoy doing both. I also forget how long it can take when it's over 300 colors. 300 colors that are totally out of order. The initial groupings are complete. Now for the part if I miss one I'll go nuts. I want to do a normal swatch as well as one with a viewing hole. It might be a two day event. Wish me luck!
