Not What Hump Day Should Be
Rent went up because of course it has. Manager got in my face because I commented on how sad that is in this economy. He also made a snarky comment about all Republicans being rude when I told him that he was being rude. More was said before. I responded, telling him that was both a stupid and ignorant thing to say, and I walked out the door. He hates Independents and Democrats.
It could be said that such a response as mine was also stupid. I don't respond well to aggressive male posturing. I understand that it's meant to intimidate, but it just makes me want to step into it and smile in dare. I don't, but I did probably smirk. It's also probably not smart to tell your residence manager that you don't like him. Oh, well. He shouldn't have been an ass.
It is sad that they keep raising the rent each year. Where I live, 31% of the workforce's wages are so low that a two bedroom apartment takes anywhere from 43% (You don't want to live there.) to 60.1% of their net income. This is before utilities and food, etc. It's just so ridiculous. Maybe I'm out of touch, but I don't think so. My shithole apartment costs more than the mortgage on my house had cost. That included multiple acres of land. It disgusts me.
I should probably eat. I thought I found a nice alternative, but it did not have central air, and that is so not happening voluntarily. I have many more thoughts on the subject of real-estate, but I would probably piss off a lot of people. Not that I mind that on this topic. I have found most landlords I've had contact with to be extremely oblivious and more than a little bit racist in varying directions. Don't get me started on my state's laws concerning the subject.
Also don't get me started on asshole judges who have zero compassion for the immigrant children coming before them. How dare you? How fucking dare you? I am so disgusted. If I did not dislike reading law books so much, the immigration situation would push me back to school. I am very annoyed. Food it is.
