The blind arrogance of cognitive biology annoys me. That's really all I have to say so as not to work myself up.

If you're someone who believes in human exceptionalism, get out and pay a little bit of attention both to humans and to other than. We are so lacking in fluency. I get the desire behind wanting to believe that way and create principles (often not applied to us) to reinforce that particular approach to thinking, but the mechanism is highly flawed.

We can do better than that. Is it really so challenging to look at data, think, question, and not follow the bloody leader out of convenience? Oops! I suppose doing so might actually make us exceptional...
